Freedom of Expression
As Islam has become more politically powerful in the Western world we have seen a decline in the level of freedom of expression that is tolerated. The aftermath of the Danish Cartoons ‘crisis’ illustrates this perfectly. Since 9/11 Western countries have been clamoring to create laws to protect Islam from the ridicule that it deserves and to prevent Western cultures to protect themselves from Islamisation and the implementation of sharia norms. Without freedom of expression true democracy is impossible and states that claim to be democracies but put unreasonable limits on free expression are in effect sham democracies run by tyrants who are afraid of the truth.
