The following is footage with English subtitles of Geert Wilders’ final remarks in his trial in Amsterdam. Freedom of speech is one of the most important rights in Western Civilisation and this court case is an assault on that freedom. It is yet more evidence, if any were needed, that sharia norms are already being applied in the Western world. To speak one’s mind is not against the Western tradition but it is against sharia norms. People need to ask themselves – why do sharia norms now carry such weight, when in the past telling a man he is not allowed to speak his mind on the issues of the day would have been exposed to the ridicule it deserves? You can have freedom of speech or you can have sharia norms but you cannot have both.
