Mark Steyn Comments On The Elisabeth Sabaditch-Wolff Conviction In Austria
In his article entitled ‘The case of the part-time pedophile’ in reference to the ‘Prophet’ Mohammed’s relationship with his child bride Aisha, Steyn makes his views about this conviction very clear. Steyn rightly refers to these kinds of trials as heresy trials. Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was found guilty of “denigrating religious teachings of a legally recognized religion”. This conviction appears to rest on the idea that Mohammed was not a paedophile because he was still married to Aisha, who he supposedly married when she was six and consummated the marriage when she was nine, when she was 18. Mr Steyn states:
So, although Mohammed deflowered Aisha when she was nine, it is “factually incorrect” to call him a pedophile because he was still hot for her when she was in her late teens? As a point of law, it’s not where you start, it’s where you finish – and you’re gonna finish on top! Does this judicial ruling apply to all Austrians partial to a piece of underage totty?
Of course any rational thinker can see that by appeasing Islam we are taking our civilisation back to a much more intolerant age where religion is allowed to trump reason. The sad fact is, if these sorts of convictions can be secured when we don’t officially have sharia law, what will happen when the Islamic baby boom creates a Muslims majority in European countries? Given the nature of sharia, and the inferior position of non-Muslims under it, we can probably expect the same sorts of abuses of non-Muslims that take place across the Islamic world. People have a right to oppose this trend towards sharia that will create a nightmare world for their children, who, if they do not convert to Islam, would have to accept second class status. Europe has had its Dark Ages, and should not be forced to accept another.
If this ruling is not universally applicable under Austrian law then it means that Mrs Sabaditch-Wolff is effectively being persecuted by a judicial system that has lost all its understanding of what justice actually means. If it is universally applicable then Austria is going down a very dangerous road with regard to the welfare of children. It seems that sharia norms have infected the Austrian judicial system that has arrived at this ridiculous and convoluted verdict. It seems that the multiculturalists who run Austria are willing to abandon freedom of speech, undermine basic justice, and put children in danger, in order to explain away parts of Islamic history that many Muslims find inconvenient. People may say that Mohammed lived a long time ago and his deeds have no modern relevance. However, Mohammed is traditionally regarded as the perfect man, a man whose example many Muslims believe should be emulated.
Mrs Sabaditch-Wolff will be appealing the verdict and all decent people should support her.
